It is part of the family of 2C drugs, which belong to a group of designer agents similar in structure to ecstasy and MDMA. When MDMA became illegal in 1985, 2C-B appeared as a street drug in the nightlife scene. Today 2C-B is a Schedule I drug, meaning it has no accepted medical use and has a high potential for abuse. While 2C-B is not as popular as other drugs that are typically used at parties and raves, in recent years it has begun appearing more often at nightclubs across the world. For several subjective outcomes, mean peak effects reported at 6 h (summary effects of the 0–6 h) were slightly lower than scores obtained at 2 h after administration (see Table 2).

-B vs. LSD

It’s classified under equivalent filings in other countries, such as the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, Germany, and Europe. 2C-B is most often used in place of MDMA at concerts, parties, or music festivals. The stimulating and euphoric effects make people feel more social and engaged, it creates a strong sense of empathy and connectedness with other people, and it won’t inhibit your ability to sleep at the end of the night. The effects of 2C-B have been described as a combination between LSD and MDMA — but this is a simplification.

Nevertheless, when statistical differences from baseline were observed at 2 h, the same occurred for 6 h (maximum effects from 0 to 6 h). These differences between 2 and 6 h could be explained due to sun rocks weed memory bias. There is an absence of scientific research regarding 2C-B addiction and withdrawal.

The Revival of Grimy Drugs

  1. Lower doses of 2C-B are the most similar to MDMA for creating a greater sense of connectedness with the people around you.
  2. That’s why we built an online community of trusted providers ranging from therapists to clinics, to retreats.
  3. According to the 2019 Global Drug Survey, darknet purchases of the drug significantly increased over 5 years, along with other drugs like DMT and ketamine.
  4. Studies show that most people who use these drugs are young adults who frequently attend raves.

Differences with respect to baseline were calculated for vital signs (SBP, DBP, and HR) and subjective effects (VAS, ARCI, and VESSPA). Maximum effects (Emax) and the time needed to reach maximum effects (tmax) were also calculated for the mentioned variables. The area under the curve of the concentrations (AUC) using the trapezoidal rule were calculated for vital signs. Sixteen healthy volunteers were included (eight males and eight females). Subjects were recreational drug harbor house sober living users who reported having used 2C-B at least once in their lives. Exclusion criteria were history of any serious medical or mental disorder including drug dependence (except for nicotine), use of chronic medication, and serious adverse reactions with 2C-B.

Shulgin himself recommended the use of this compound in therapy and gave it to a handful of psychologists to use with patients. He also suggested that the drug could be used in conjunction with MDMA to ease the comedown and solidify any revelations brought on by the experience. At high enough doses, 2C-B produces visual effects, which often include geometric patterns, after-images and tracers, facial distortions, environmental drifting (e.g. melting or flowing surfaces), and enhanced or shifting colors. At higher doses, these hallucinations can become unpleasant, ugly, or even frightening. Compared to other psychedelics, 2C-B is considered gentle — which effects described as being a combination of MDMA and LSD.
